DELTA®-THENE: Self-Adhesive Waterproofing Membrane
DELTA®-THENE is a cold self-adhesive bitumen-rubber waterproofing membrane on a cross-laminated HDPE carrier film. It seals walls and floors in contact with the ground against soil moisture and non-pressing water, with no heat or torch needed.
It is also used as a damp-proof course in and under walls, as a vapour barrier under screeds, for balconies and wet rooms, and for flat sealing against radon gas. With DELTA®-THENE cold primer it can be laid down to -5 °C, useful for Irish winters.
Supplied in Ireland by Commons House Design, the official Dörken DELTA® partner in Ireland, with a showroom in Athy, Co Kildare.

Advantages
- Processing down to -5 °C
With DELTA®-THENE KÄLTEGRUNDANSTRICH (cold primer), installation in winter is possible down to -5 °C, with fewer weather delays than materials that cannot be used in the cold.
- Fast, simple installation
Unrolled and bonded in one step. The printed grid makes cutting with a knife and accurate laying easy, and it goes down much faster than liquid systems such as polymer-modified bitumen thick coatings (PMBC).
- No curing or drying time
Protection or drainage layers such as DELTA®-TERRAXX, and insulation, can be fitted straight away, which speeds up backfilling.
- Immediately weatherproof
Watertight and rainproof as soon as it is bonded.
- No layer-thickness testing
Consistent thickness means no thickness checks are needed.
- High flexibility
Bridges cracks and movement in the substrate.
- No open flame
No torching equipment needed, which improves site safety.
- Easy connection to wall barriers
Bonds well to most common plastics, avoiding damage that torch-on sheets can cause to wall barriers.
- Standards compliance
Meets DIN 18531 (balconies), DIN 18533 (components in contact with the ground) and DIN 18534 (wet room walls and floors). Fulfils DIN SPEC 20000-202 for use as a seal, CE conformity to EN 13969 and EN 14967.
Where to Use
Vertical seal against soil moisture and non-pressing water for floors and walls in contact with the ground (DIN 18533); horizontal seal for balconies (DIN 18531) and wet room walls and floors (DIN 18534). Also a wall barrier (MSB-nQ) against capillary water, a plinth seal against splash water and soil moisture, a vapour barrier under screeds, an external vapour barrier on waterproof concrete walls, for sealing construction joints in precast or twin-wall concrete, and for flat radon sealing. Processing: the substrate must be smooth, dry, clean, dust-free, pressure-resistant and load-bearing.
Prime mineral surfaces first with DELTA®-THENE GRUNDANSTRICH, DELTA®-THENE KÄLTEGRUNDANSTRICH or DELTA®-THENE GRUND INSIDE. Prepare edges, coves and details with DELTA®-THENE cut pieces or prefabricated DELTA®-THENE BAND T 300/500, so all critical areas are double-layered. Lay in strips: peel back the release paper about 20 cm at the start, align and bond, keeping a 10 cm overlap between strips.
Press all overlaps, joints and ends firmly with a pressure roller.
